'- Antibiotic of the tetracycline family. - It has great activity against numerous germs: : streptococcus, staphylococcus, pneumococcus, meningococcus, gonocococcus, brucella, pale treponema, tularemia germ and dysenteric amoeba. It is also effective in some diseases caused by other microorganisms such as chlamydias and mycloplasmas (Nicolas-Favre disease, herpetic keratitis, atypical pneumonias) or by rickettsiae (exanthematous typhus).
