Spain is one of the leading countries in swine production and therefore must remain at the forefront.
ANPSTAND is an Operational Group that is integrated by experts operating in the swine breeding segment such as: the National Association of Select Swine Breeders (ANPS), two public research centers (INIA and the University of Murcia), the National Association of Swine Producers (ANPROGAPOR), a Cooperative (COBADU), a livestock group (CIAP Cinco Villas), companies such as TOPIGS NORSVIN, GRUP GEPORK, SEMEN CARDONA, the group of consultants ESMEDAGRO, along with the participation of leading companies in artificial insemination material such as KUBUS. All the companies come together to work as a team, with the will to share knowledge that ensures the success of the project.
The objectives are to unify work criteria in Artificial Insemination Centers (CIAs) to establish general quality parameters, including: biosecurity, male handling, animal welfare, sanitation, semen collection, ejaculate processing, conservation and distribution of doses, quality control, traceability of doses and environmental management.
“Guide to Innovative Strategies for Improving Biosecurity in Swine Insemination Centers” is part of the work to establish a semen quality standard.
This Guide provides working protocols that will help prevent the entry of pathogens into IARCs and will of course be a valuable tool to support suppliers and customers.
This Guide establishes guidelines for the maintenance of facilities, buildings, warehouses, ventilation, water quality, movement of personnel, entry and exit of animals, equipment, inputs, feed, pest control, etc.
ANPSTAND is a clear commitment of the sector, which voluntarily decides to improve and standardize the artificial insemination processes.
